Course Details

This essential certification opens up cold-water diving adventures while keeping you perfectly warm and dry. Whether exploring UK wrecks, Norwegian fjords, or tropical sites during cooler months, you’ll learn to use dry suit technology confidently – from proper donning techniques to advanced buoyancy control with your new “wearable air bubble”.

The course combines detailed equipment knowledge with practical skills for managing dry suit inflation, dealing with potential floods, and maintaining perfect trim. You’ll graduate ready to extend your dive season indefinitely while enjoying superior thermal protection that lets you focus on the underwater experience rather than the cold.

h3>Course Essentials:

  • Prerequisites: SDI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
  • Minimum Age: 18 (12-17 with parental consent)
  • Dive Requirements: 2 open water dry suit dives
  • What to Bring: Thermal base layers (centre provides suit)

Dry Suit Reality Check:

While incredibly warm, dry suits require different buoyancy techniques than wetsuits. The course emphasises gradual skill development – you’ll practice in confined water first before open water dives to build confidence with your new system.
